Installing your mats correctly

Small details. Big impact.
Correct installation is essential to get the full ergonomic and safety benefits from your matting. Based on decades of industrial experience, here are the key principles to follow for a safe, durable installation.

1. Start with a clean floor
Before installation, ensure the floor is clean, dry, and free of debris. A clean surface improves mat stability and prevents premature wear.

2. Place your mats correctly
Roll out your mat or assemble your modular system directly in the working area. Make sure the mat fully covers the operator’s natural standing zone.

3. Ensure the mat does not move
A mat that shifts can create serious trip hazards. Always verify that the mat lies flat, remains stable, and stays in position during normal use.

4. Use safety ramps only where needed
Safety ramps are designed to reduce trip risks at open edges. They should be used only where users enter or exit the mat.
Important:
Where mats are installed against fixed equipment, such as workbenches or machines, safety ramps are not required. Ideally, the mat should extend approximately 15 cm underneath the workbench, allowing users to stand comfortably close to their task without imbalance caused by feet extending beyond the mat edge.
Correct placement improves safety, comfort and productivity, while maintaining a clean and professional workspace.
